⭐ 1. Lesson Explanation
Why Three Letters?
In Arabic, most basic words are built from three letters. Learning to read three-letter sequences correctly is an essential milestone in Qur’ān recitation.
This lesson extends what you learned in Lesson 2:
- You already know how to join two letters
- Now you will learn how to join three letters
- You will practice reading them sequentially:
Letter 1 + vowel → Letter 2 + vowel → Letter 3 + vowel
⭐ How to Read Three-Letter Words
To read a 3-letter combination:
Step 1: Look at the first letter and identify its vowel
Example: سَ = sa
Step 2: Move to the second letter and identify its vowel
Example: جَ = ja
Step 3: Move to the third letter
Example: دَ = da
Step 4: Combine smoothly
سَجَدَ = sa-ja-da
That is the basic technique for all 3-letter words.
⭐ Notes About Joining
- The shapes will vary depending on if the letter appears at the beginning, middle, or end.
- Focus on pronunciation, not memorizing shapes—your fluency comes through practice.
