📘 Course Description

Learn How to Read the Qur’an – Part 4: Elongations Mixed with Vowels

This course is designed for beginners and early learners who already know Arabic letters and basic vowels, and now want to read more accurately, confidently, and correctly.

In this part of the course, students focus on elongation (madd) and how it works with fatḥa, kasra, and ḍamma, as well as how elongation can sometimes look similar to non-elongated sounds. The course gradually trains the learner’s eye and ear to distinguish long sounds from short sounds, which is a critical skill for correct Qur’anic reading.

The lessons move step by step, starting from simple elongated letters, then moving into mixed pairs, look-alike sounds, real Arabic words, and finally Qur’anic vocabulary and verses. Each lesson includes practice material, quizzes (multiple choice and true/false), and assignments to reinforce learning.

This course prepares learners for accurate Qur’an recitation, avoiding common mistakes such as over-stretching sounds or missing elongation where it exists.

📚 What This Course Covers

✅ Lesson 1: Elongation with Fatḥa, Kasra, and Ḍamma

In this lesson, students learn how elongation works using the three short vowels:

  • Fatḥa + Alif (ـا)
  • Ḍamma + Wāw (ـو)
  • Kasra + Yā (ـي)

Students practice elongated sounds such as بَا، بُو، بِي across all Arabic letters.
The goal is to clearly hear and pronounce long vowel sounds without rushing.

✅ Lesson 2: Mixed Random Pairs of Elongated Letters

This lesson trains learners to read random combinations of elongated letters.

Instead of repeating the same vowel pattern, learners practice switching between different elongated sounds (fatḥa, kasra, ḍamma) within mixed sequences.
This builds reading flexibility and confidence.

✅ Lesson 3: Similar to Elongation but Not Elongation

Here, learners study words that look like elongation but are actually short sounds ending with Sukoon.

Students revise:

  • Normal vowels on the first letter
  • Sukoon on the last letter

This lesson prevents a very common mistake: stretching sounds that should not be stretched.

✅ Lesson 4: Elongated vs Non-Elongated Look-Alike Patterns

This lesson directly compares:

  • Elongated sounds (like رَا، رُو، رِي)
  • Similar-looking sounds that are not elongated (like رَوْ، رَيْ، رُو)

Learners practice identifying the difference by sight and sound, improving accuracy and control.

✅ Lesson 5: Pairs of Four-Letter Elongated Words

Students practice longer repeated patterns made of elongated sounds, such as:

  • جَاجِيْ
  • صِيصِيْ
  • نُونُوْ

These exercises strengthen:

  • Tongue control
  • Sound consistency
  • Smooth elongation without cutting or exaggeration

✅ Lesson 6: Mixed Words With and Without Elongation

This lesson combines:

  • Elongated practice words
  • Non-elongated words
  • Real Arabic vocabulary

Learners must switch correctly between long and short sounds within the same reading session.
This lesson closely reflects real Qur’anic and Arabic reading.

✅ Lesson 7: Qur’anic and Vocabulary Application

In the final lesson, learners read:

  • Complete Arabic words
  • Common Qur’anic expressions
  • Selected verses and vocabulary

Students apply everything they learned about elongation, stopping correctly, and sound accuracy.
This lesson bridges practice reading and real Qur’an recitation.
